JAKARTA โ The Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) has the potential to increase the efficiency value of oil and gas sector businesses amid unfavorable global oil prices.
โThis PLB was built from scratch, aiming to help oil and gas companies achieve efficiency. With increasing pressure for companies to be efficient, the PLB offers significant opportunities for cost-saving measures,โ said Ety Puspitasari, Chair of the Indonesian Bonded Logistics Center Association during the 2016 Oil and Gas Business Forum in Jakarta on Wednesday (5/18).
Ety acknowledged that the oil and gas sector is indeed sluggish macroeconomically, but hopes that the PLB's presence can advance the logistics industry. โWe don't view the oil and gas situation as gloomy โ this is actually a good opportunity. If efficiency measures are implemented properly, benefits can be realized when prices rebound,โ Ety added.
Herry Putranto, Daily Chair of the Indonesian Oil and Gas Community (KMI), hopes oil and gas businesses can optimize the PLB as a shared facility for processing oil. โThe sector wants shared facility efficiency. Fortunately, the PLB presents a breakthrough opportunity. We hope the PLB can be used as a shared facility to process abundant oil resources,โ Herry stated.
This multifunctional logistics warehouse stores imported or local goods with benefits including exemptions from Import-Related Domestic Tax (PDRI), excise exemptions for companies entering PLB zones, and exemptions from Value-Added Tax (VAT) and Luxury Goods Sales Tax (PPNBM) for goods transferred between PLB zones.
